I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
